Do you want to take control of your fuel costs in this climate of ever rising prices? Do you also wonder just how much CO2 youre pumping into the atmosphere? Yes, well so do I and that is why I wrote this App. Using this App will allow you to monitor you fuel consumption and at the same time see the costs to the climate as well.
Instructions
The main page of the App is where you enter the distance travelled and the amount of fuel used. The distance can either be in miles or kilometres. The amounts can either be in litres or US Gallons. To get accurate figures you need to reset your cars trip meter to zero when you fill up your tank. When you next fill up your car you record the distance travelled (as shown on the trip meter) and the amount of fuel just put in the car to fill the tank (as shown on the pump). Set the type of fuel correctly and the three values are calculated. The App calculates the distance travelled per unit of fuel, the total amount of CO2 emitted for the journey and also the amount of CO2 emitted per unit of distance. To log this information so that it is saved for future reference you need to select Save. This saves the information so that it is shown on the Charts Page and the Readings Page. The App changes to show the values entered on the readings page
On the Preferences Page you can set how this information is presented to you. Distances can either be in kilometers or in miles. Fuel Amounts can be either be in litres, UK Gallons or US Gallons (UK and US gallons are not the same amount). Weights can either be in kilograms or pounds. These settings affect how the information is displayed to you.
There is a final setting that if enabled shows the fuel consumption in litres per 100km travelled. This is only show if litres and km are selected above.
The Charts page shows you the readings that have been saved. It shows up to 30 readings. At the top is a control that lets you see the three different charts. You can swipe left and right to see older or newer readings.
The Readings Page shows you each of the readings that you have saved. It shows the latest reading first.
Notes:
For US users: In the Preferences set to miles, US Gallons and pounds. On the main page set to miles and US Gallons. This will show the answers in the standard use units of use.
For UK users: In the Preferences set to miles, UK Gallons and kgs. On the main page set to miles and litres. This will show the answers in what, I consider, the standard units of use.
For other (EU) users: In the Preferences set to km, litres and kgs - enable the litres per 100km if required. On the main page set to kms and litres. This will show the answers in standard European units.
Alternatively, ignore all that I had just put and set it how you like. If I have missed a setting please email me using the link below and I will add it.
